With the security of information and data becoming more and more vital, network and computer systems security has become one of the most important issues in computer knowledge.
Even though teaching hacking could end up having unfavorable outcomes, the benefits of knowing the security defects of a system, outweigh the risks.
considering the significance of hacking, how it is not being taught as an official subject in school and the lack of professional competitions in compression to other computer contests, we felt the need for a program related to this subject for those who were interested.
As a result, University of Tehran’s ACM branch decided to collaborate with University of Tehran’s code community to orchestrate an event, the event was called UTSec.
The event was held in 2 days, the fist day consisted of a six hour class covering subjects such as reverse engineering, network attacks and web attacks. The second day was a 7 hour tournament -in the CTF style- the knowledge requirements of which were covered in the previous day.
A total of 120 people, in groups of 3 and from various universities, participated in UTSec.
The top 3 teams were given appreciation tablets followed by cash prizes. The first team was awarded with a cash prize of 1.5 million Tommans, the second team a cash prize of 900 thousand Tommasn  and the third team a cash prize of 300 thousand Tommand.
Other participants were provided with participation certificates.
